Default Don't know full server path

How do I find the full server path? I used the path to the gallery2 folder that I see when I ftp into my website but that didn't work.

I'm in the same boat. The "Full Server Path to G2" states, "this will only be saved if correctly given." Well it took my FTP path, but it still does not bridge to the gallery from my mainmenu.

How does one obtain the full path if the path is not the same as what my ftp client uses to find a path to the Gallery2 file?

    Hi Guys,
I had this problem yesterday too but solved it with a bit of help from friends - previous posts on this board:

In Joomla backend administration, via the menus go to
    Site>Global Configuration
    Click on the Server tab
At the top of the list you will notice
    Absolute Path:
and after it is the path to your Joomla site this will give you a clue as to how to format the requested information for G2 bridge. See how you go. My absolute path here was
    /home/smallfri/public_html/joomla
so I just changed it to
/home/smallfri/public_html/gallery2 for the input to the G2 bridge config and it worked. I was confused because it didn't have any http:// but it doesn't need it, it's only looking for the path ON the server.

Same problem here. I put in the server path of my mambo configuration and added the directorie. So:

    server path: /opt/websites/domainname
    component: /components/com_gallery2

    server path + component =
    /opt/websites/www.domainname.nl/components/com_gallery2

I decided to take a look in the 'cronjob' tab. Here it said the path to the cronjob was:
    /opt/websites/www.domainname.nl/components/com_gallery2/cron/g2CronJob.php

This looks a lot like the on I used :|, so what's my problem? I don't know!

    Please help me out ...

But it doesn't work. I already tried a lot of different things. Please help me out.
It's not server path + component, that would be fools programmer if he asked that.

It's your "server path" to your "galley 2" install, this component is a bridge and embed "gallery2" into Joomla. So where did you install "gallery 2"?

    Kind regards,
    Michiel

    My installation is at:

    http://www.domainname.nl/components/com_gallery2

Oops .. Do you mean, this component isn't a full package gallery?

As we speak, I'm installing the gallery2. Thank you for giving met the insight I desperately needed. I'm quite new at Mambo/Joomla so I still miss out on some basic information.

Good thing I'm a quick learner.

    Ciao
